Form a U.S. Company From Abroad

You can form a U.S. company without living in the U.S., without an SSN and without visiting an office. We guide you step by step, in Turkish or English.

You don’t need to be a citizen or resident to form a company in the U.S. Foreign founders can form an LLC or corporation, obtain an EIN and run the business remotely. What matters is choosing the right state, knowing your annual obligations and setting up the tax side correctly from day one.

We’ve answered the most common questions below in plain language. For questions specific to your situation, our team is happy to help.

Questions Founders Ask

Can’t find your answer? Our team helps in Turkish and English.

Can I form a company without an SSN?

Yes. People who aren’t U.S. citizens or don’t have an SSN can still form an LLC. The EIN application just takes longer than for SSN holders (about 4–6 weeks).

Do I need an ITIN?

You don’t need an ITIN to form a company. You may need one to file a personal U.S. tax return or for some banking and financial transactions. ITIN applications aren’t part of the standard formation package; we offer them as a separate service.

Do I have to open a bank account?

It isn’t mandatory, but opening a business bank account is recommended to run the company properly and keep accurate financial records. Account opening follows each bank’s own procedures; some banks may ask for additional address verification, SSN / ITIN details, proof of business activity, a website or invoices. Approval is entirely at the bank’s discretion.

Do I have to file taxes?

Yes. Most U.S. companies — active or inactive — have annual tax and reporting obligations; for example, foreign-owned single-member LLCs file Form 5472 with a pro forma 1120 every year. Not filing can lead to penalties, interest and the company falling out of good standing. Our accounting and tax team plans your obligations around your structure.

Will I have tax obligations in Türkiye too?

It depends on your tax residency in Türkiye and the company’s activities. The U.S. and Türkiye have a double taxation treaty. For your obligations in Türkiye, please consult a Turkish tax advisor.

How long does an EIN take?

If the owner has a valid SSN, the EIN is often issued the same day after state approval. Without an SSN, it takes about 4–6 weeks depending on IRS workload, and up to 8 weeks in busy periods. Tax season and public holidays can affect these times.

What is an EIN and does it cost anything?

An EIN (Employer Identification Number) is your company’s federal tax ID, needed for bank accounts, payment platforms and taxes. The IRS issues EINs free of charge; our fee covers preparing, submitting and tracking the application.

Can I get an EIN without an SSN or ITIN?

Yes. Without an SSN or ITIN, the IRS online system can’t be used; the application is filed with Form SS-4 and may be subject to additional processing and review. We handle the whole process for you and share every step in your portal.
